Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) is conducting a review of companies producing industrial margarine used in Moscow’s baking industry. The review focuses on the reasons behind increases in the products’ wholesale prices.
As part of the analysis, the agency is assessing the companies’ financial and economic indicators for 2025 and 2026. The review was launched over information concerning changes in margarine prices.
FAS said it continuously monitors price formation in the industrial margarine market. The agency also said that the Rusagro group, considered dominant in that market, had increased its prices by more than 5% under the applicable directive.
FAS said it would take the necessary intervention measures if the review identifies signs of violations of competition law.
