Russian Public Chamber member Evgeny Masharov has drawn attention to a new scam targeting young people looking for summer jobs. Speaking to RIA Novosti, Masharov said that young people seeking temporary work during the summer period are being targeted in particular.
Scammers lure young people with promises of high salaries in job advertisements. According to Masharov, the real aim is to lure them into questionable schemes and burden them with debt.
Masharov said, "The scammers first call them for a job interview. At the end of the interview, they say they need to take a paid training course. If the candidate does not have the money, they suggest taking out a loan."
Emphasizing that young people are quickly pushed into a debt trap by this method, Masharov warned families and young people to be careful.
