Early voting held in the Dominican Republic
Holding the election process at the embassy for the first time marked a milestone in the history of Russia's diplomatic mission. The embassy began its operations in the Dominican Republic in spring 2025.
Early voting in the country took place on September 18 and 19 in the cities of Sosua and Punta Cana.
Duma elections began on September 18
Voting in other elections held during the same period as the elections for deputies to the ninth convocation of the Russian State Duma began on September 18 and ended on September 20.
A total of 20,700 polling stations were expected to be established for elections to legislative bodies and elected offices during Russia's 2026 unified election day. Russian President Vladimir Putin had described the State Duma elections as the country's most important domestic political development.
