Russia claims control of two settlements in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia
Russia's Defense Ministry announced it took control of Ukrainskoye in Kharkiv region and Kopani in Zaporizhzhia region. The claims have not yet been independently verified.
Russia's Defense Ministry has announced advances on the eastern and southern fronts in Ukraine. In a written statement, the ministry said that the Northern Forces had captured the settlement of Ukrainskoye in the Kharkiv region, while the Eastern Forces had taken control of Kopani in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The statement read, "Northern military units, as a result of active and decisive operations, took control of Ukrainskoye in the Kharkiv region. Eastern military units advanced deep into enemy defenses and liberated Kopani in Zaporizhzhia."
On the previous day, the Russian Defense Ministry had announced the capture of Rovnoye and Lesnoye in Zaporizhzhia and Malinovka in Donetsk. Ukrainian authorities have not yet confirmed or denied the situation in the respective areas.
