Russia has opened the way for bitcoin, ethereum and tether to be traded publicly on exchanges.
Under the new regulation, qualified investors will be able to purchase cryptocurrencies traded on exchanges and over-the-counter markets without any amount limit.
All investors wishing to trade cryptocurrencies will first have to take a test. Investors will also be informed about the risks associated with investing in crypto assets.
The annual purchase limit for non-qualified investors has been set at 300,000 rubles. This amount is equivalent to approximately 3,650 dollars.

Interest in cryptocurrencies and crypto mining had increased in the country following Western sanctions targeting Russian financial institutions.
