Prisoner kills one officer and injures three during train transfer in Russia
In Russia’s Kabardino-Balkaria region, a prisoner being transported by train attacked Federal Penitentiary Service officers, killing one and injuring three. The attacker was killed near Murtazovo station, and no civilians were injured.

Attacker seized the officer’s weapon
The incident occurred near Murtazovo station while one of the prisoners was being taken to the toilet. The prisoner attacked an escort officer alone and seized the weapon assigned to the officer.
One officer was killed and three others were injured in the attack. The attacker was killed during an operation carried out by a security team.
Federal Penitentiary Service denies reports of a riot
The Federal Penitentiary Service said that no civilians were injured in the incident. Law enforcement officers were sent to the area afterward, and an investigation was launched.
The agency also said that reports of a riot on the train were untrue. The Federal Penitentiary Service said the situation in the region was under control.
