The Russian Federation Council passed a law on Wednesday allowing drivers with B, C, and D class licenses to operate AII category off-road vehicles.
Under the previous rules, these drivers were only permitted to operate AI category off-road vehicles. A tractor-machinist certificate was required for AII category vehicles until now.
With the new regulation, the right to operate self-propelled vehicles in the AI and AII categories will also be confirmed by B, C, and D class driver's licenses.
The text of the law also stipulates that B and C license holders must be at least 19 years old and have at least 12 months of driving experience in the relevant class to operate AII category off-road vehicles.
The regulation marks a significant change in Russia's licensing system for off-road vehicle use.
