Olympic champions to compete in flying contest at Moscow’s Letfest
At the Letfest festival in Moscow, teams will launch their homemade aircraft from a six-meter ramp over the Moskva River. The free event will take place on August 22 at Muzeon Art Park.
Moscow will host prominent figures from the worlds of sport and media at the Letfest festival, where teams will compete with homemade aircraft. Actors Anastasia Sivaeva and Polina Aynutdinova, travel-show host Alina Astrovskaya and KVN team member Alexey Krivenya will take part in the event.
The contest will center on flights from a six-meter ramp built over the Moskva River. The jury will assess the distance covered by each team, the originality of its engineering solutions and the creativity of the project’s presentation.
Olympic champions to captain the teams
Figure skating Olympic champions Anna Shcherbakova, Alexei Yagudin and Evgenia Medvedeva will serve as team captains. Artistic gymnastics Olympic champion Artur Dalaloyan and Olympic champion in the team all-around Angelina Melnikova will also lead teams.
Winter sports representative and Olympic silver medalist in the individual sprint Alexander Panzhinsky and actor Ivan Yankovsky will also be among the team leaders. The STS, Europa Plus, Gorky Park and Dynamo teams will compete in the contest.
The event will be free
In addition to the competitions, Letfest will feature an entertainment program with performances by artists. The festival will be held on August 22 at Muzeon Art Park in Moscow as part of the Moscow in Summer project.
Visitors will be able to attend Letfest from 2:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m., and admission will be free. The Moscow Department of Sports will organize the event.
