Governor Pasler was taking photos with the public as part of the event when a man wearing a blue tracksuit quickly ran towards him. Security personnel stopped and removed the man before he could reach the governor. The video did not clearly show whether the man was armed. Some media sources claimed the man might have been intoxicated, but this information has not yet been officially confirmed. Authorities have detained the man and continue to interrogate him. Following the incident, the regional governor delivered his planned speech. May 1 is celebrated as an important public holiday in Russia.
