London’s support for Kyiv will continue
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said support for Kyiv would continue despite Russia’s warning that the cost would rise if the UK became more involved in the war in Ukraine.
The UK Ministry of Defence also said it remained committed to providing Ukraine with the equipment it needs to defend itself against Russia. The UK has been among Kyiv’s largest international supporters since the war Russia launched against Ukraine began.
Lavrov warns of participation in the war
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov responded to the UK’s decision to continue supporting Ukraine. Lavrov said Russia had the right to respond if London became more involved in the war.
Lavrov said he would feel sorry for the UK if it stood by Ukraine to the end. He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously warned that Russia had the right to take action in any part of the World Ocean if its interests and property were harmed.
Lavrov said Russia had the right to consider the participation of the UK Missile Forces in attacks against Russia as participation in the war, with all the resulting consequences.
Russia’s Embassy in London accuses the UK
Russia’s Embassy in London said the UK had consciously chosen to escalate the crisis in Ukraine.
The embassy warned that the cost for the UK would rise if it became more involved in the conflict and provided greater support for Kyiv’s terrorist mechanism.
