A knife attack occurred at a shopping mall in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar. Russia's Investigative Committee announced that a woman was killed in the attack and several people suffered stab wounds.

Attacker Detained

The committee stated that a young man attacked mall visitors with a knife-like object in Krasnodar. It was announced that the attacker was detained at the scene. The committee has initiated a criminal case on charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with the incident.

Five People Injured

Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, in a statement on his Telegram channel, reported that five people were injured in the attack. Kondratyev said, "Ambulance teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. Preliminary information indicates 5 people were injured. Currently, medical teams at city and regional hospitals are assisting them. The condition of the injured is assessed as moderate."

The governor also confirmed that the attacker assaulted visitors with a knife.
