The Russian House in Yerevan hosted a chess event to celebrate the 97th birthday anniversary of the world's ninth chess champion, Tigran Petrosyan.
As part of the event, a simultaneous chess session was held with one of Armenia's strongest grandmasters, Gabriel Sargsyan. Sargsyan is a world team championship winner and a three-time World Chess Olympiad champion.
At the chess board, he faced representatives of diplomatic missions, members of educational institutions, and public opinion leaders.
Vadim Fefilov, the head of the Russian House in Yerevan, announced that a special prize was awarded to the participant who demonstrated the most interesting game. The prize was a chessboard bearing the signature of Russian grandmaster Sergey Karjakin, specially brought from Moscow.
