Alice Rufo, France’s state minister to the minister of defense, said that Russia has been challenging the borders of the European Union and NATO with attacks that have intensified recently.
Rufo argued that the attacks were intended to create divisions among European countries and limit support for Ukraine. She said Russia would not abandon its attempts to test the borders of the European Union and NATO, and stated that the actions could continue with greater intensity.
Rufo calls on the EU and NATO to respond calmly
Rufo said NATO and the European Union must maintain a firm stance in the face of the attacks and called for a systematic and calm response.
Rufo said Ukraine wants to continue ceasefire negotiations and seek peace, while claiming that Russia is not interested in peace “at this stage.”
Train incident near the Ukraine-Poland border
As fighting between Russia and Ukraine intensified in recent days, a train was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle on September 13 in an area near the Ukraine-Poland border. The attack on another train was attributed to Russian unmanned aerial vehicles.
The incident occurred a few minutes after a train carrying European politicians and diplomats, including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt and Britain’s national security adviser Jonathan Powell, had passed through the area.
