France condemned a decision in Russia that allows certain French and European company subsidiaries to be managed by a state-controlled local company.
France’s Foreign Ministry condemned the appointment of external administrators to manage the subsidiaries and urged Russian authorities to reverse the decision. The ministry said French officials remain in close contact with the companies concerned.

Under the decision, an external administrator was appointed to manage the Russian assets of Nestlé, the Switzerland-based food company, and French supermarket chain Auchan.
According to a decree signed this week by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the companies’ assets in Russia will be managed temporarily by a state-controlled local company.
