Emine Erdoğan, wife of Türkiye's president, called for international efforts to be united to protect children, especially those living in areas affected by armed conflicts, while speaking at the World Summit on Investments in Children's Well-being in Samarkand.
“Let us raise our voices in defense of children in war zones who cannot even dream of a future,” she said. Representatives from more than 100 countries attended the summit.

According to Erdoğan, access to food, housing, security, education and health care remains the foundation of children's well-being. However, climate change, conflicts, forced displacement and digital threats must also be taken into account.
She noted that more than 21,000 children had been killed in Gaza over the past three years, more than 10,000 had been left with disabilities, and around 700,000 students had been deprived of their right to education. Erdoğan thanked Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, the wife of Uzbekistan's president, for organizing the summit.
