Body of missing 5-year-old girl found on railway in Russia's Krasnoyarsk region
The body of a young girl who disappeared with her mother in Achinsk was found on a railway embankment. Authorities are continuing the search for the missing mother.
The body of a 5-year-old girl who disappeared with her mother last week in the city of Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk region, has been found. The regional Investigative Committee announced that the girl's body was discovered on a railway embankment near 5 July Street.
The statement said the child showed no signs of life, and that volunteers and police teams are continuing a large-scale search operation to find the missing mother.
According to an earlier statement from the Krasnoyarsk Interior Ministry, the 32-year-old woman's husband had reported to police that his wife and child were missing. It was learned that the woman left home with her child on 27 June and never returned.
Authorities also confirmed that a criminal investigation was launched into the incident on Saturday.
