Shakhtar Donetsk won the match late on

Shakhtar Donetsk extended their lead in the 86th minute. Gleiker Mendoza entered the penalty area from the left wing, sent the ball into the top-right corner and made the final score 3-1.
Arda Turan made history at Stamford Bridge
The victory was the first Champions League win of Arda Turan's coaching career. Twelve years ago, while playing for Atletico Madrid, Turan scored in the 72nd minute of his team's match at Stamford Bridge, where they beat Chelsea 3-1 and reached the final.
Turan, who managed his second Champions League match, had drawn 1-1 away against PSV in his first game.

Turan: Three points of emotional importance
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Arda Turan said they had come through a difficult contest. Turan said that, because they are a young team, they could not reproduce some of the aspects in which they had been successful in previous matches, adding that they became involved in the game after falling behind and enjoyed more possession.
Turan said the victory was valuable for the dreams and hopes they would carry through to the end of the Champions League league phase, adding that his players were the leading figures in his first Champions League victory.
Turan said Gleiker Mendoza's third goal reminded him of his time at Atletico Madrid, adding that it was important for Mendoza, who had previously played for Kryvbas, to score at a major stadium such as Stamford Bridge.
Noting that systems and tactics in football change over time, Turan emphasized that emotions are the one constant. He said he was happy to be in this position at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking about Shakhtar Donetsk becoming the first Ukrainian side to win in England, Turan said he was pleased with the statistic. He said it meant a great deal to them that the team's victory brought happiness to some children living amid the conditions of war.
