Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he held a phone call with US President Donald Trump's special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
In a post on his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy said, "I just spoke with President Trump's representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. It was a good and important conversation about how we can revive diplomacy and bring peace closer."
The Ukrainian leader stated that an honorable peace is needed and that Ukraine has long been ready for it. Zelenskyy said that the teams are in close contact to continue working on all the issues discussed.
Zelenskyy also thanked the American negotiators for their "personal efforts for peace" and expressed gratitude to the US President and the American people for their "continued support."
Ukrainian media had earlier reported that Zelenskyy's communications adviser Dmytro Lytvyn announced that the Ukrainian leader held a meeting with the American negotiators. Lytvyn said, "We have just completed the meeting."
Meanwhile, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak claimed in a post on his Telegram channel, citing sources, that Zelenskyy and his team will make a working visit to the US this week. Zheleznyak alleged that a meeting on the "peace line" and the funeral of Lindsey Graham are planned there.
Zheleznyak said, "Depending on the outcome of the talks, although we have not yet received confirmation, a meeting with the US President is possible."
