Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky approved a decree dismissing Washington ambassador Olga Stefanishyna. The decree was published by Zelensky's office.
The text stated: "Olga Vitalievna Stefanishyna is relieved of her duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States."
Stefanishyna stated that the resignation decision was entirely her own and "stemmed from personal reasons." The former ambassador said in a Facebook post, "I will continue to work for Ukraine where I can be useful."

Ukraine's official news agency UNN reported on July 13 that Stefanishyna had requested to leave her post for personal reasons and that Zelensky had approved the request. Stefanishyna later clarified that Zelensky had not asked her to resign.
Stefanishyna had been serving in Washington since August 27, 2025.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksiy Honcharenko, citing sources, claimed that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) might bring charges against Stefanishyna.
