Cuban officials’ participation in next month’s UN vote has been thrown into uncertainty by possible U.S. travel restrictions.
The U.S. State Department is considering strict controls on Cuban officials’ travel. At the same time, the Cuban delegation has been cleared to attend this week’s UN General Assembly in large numbers.
The details of any restrictions have not yet been finalized. The new measures could make it more difficult or impossible for Cuban officials to take part in the annual UN vote on the U.S. economic embargo against Cuba.
