MOSCOW, August 31 — Olga Zanko, chair of the Central Council of United Russia Supporters and deputy chair of the State Duma Committee on the Development of Civil Society, outlined her party’s proposals on children’s healthcare during an election debate in Moscow.
Under the proposal, more than 500 children’s clinics and over 180 children’s hospitals in Russia’s regions will be equipped with new equipment. The plan also calls for the upgrading of 140 perinatal centers and maternity hospitals.
Annual payments for working parents
United Russia’s election program also includes annual family payments for working parents with two or more children. Zanko additionally proposed financial support for parents raising children alone.
Online processing of birth documents
The program proposes arrangements to make it faster for parents to obtain documents after a birth and to complete the process online, so they do not face queues and unnecessary bureaucracy.
United Russia’s proposals also include providing quality holiday opportunities for 5 million children each year.
