Efforts to restore electricity and water services were continuing after intense attacks on Odesa and the surrounding area during the night and day of August 9. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy said more than 300,000 families were left without power.
In a video address in the evening, Zelenskyy said all teams were working to resolve the outages. Zelenskyy said about one-third of the electricity supply had been restored by morning and that the work was continuing.
Zelenskyy said the attacks also took place in Kharkiv and the surrounding area, as well as in Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region and in the Kherson, Sumy and Zhytomyr regions.
The Ukrainian president said he had received reports from Prime Minister Koretskyi during the day. Zelenskyy said he had discussed the defense of the cities and responses to Russia with Commander-in-Chief Drapatiy, adding that every attack would be answered.
