UEFA has announced that Russian football clubs will not compete in European competitions during the 2026/27 season. The organization stated that the access list has been adjusted to align with the ongoing suspension of Russian representative teams and clubs.
The UEFA statement noted that the 2026/27 access list has been reorganized along with the participation structure for European competitions. This reorganization took into account the balancing of champion teams and rights based on European performance rankings.
Russia was ranked 28th in the UEFA coefficient table and, according to this ranking, could have sent four clubs to European competitions. However, Russian clubs and national teams have been banned from UEFA tournaments since 2022.
This decision confirms that the status of Russian football in the European arena will remain unchanged next season. Consequently, Russian clubs will continue their international hiatus for at least one more season.
