The Turkish Embassy in Baku hosted the Turkish delegation that traveled to the Azerbaijani capital for the 4th International Conference on Missing Persons.
The delegation included lawmaker Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, head of Türkiye’s delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly; Şamil Ayrım, chair of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group; lawmakers Orhan Erdem, Uğur Bayraktutan and Ahmet Erbaş; and Deputy Family and Social Services Minister Zafer Tarıkdaroğlu.
"A humanitarian, not a political issue"

Speaking at the conference a day earlier, Çavuşoğlu stressed that the issue of missing persons is first and foremost humanitarian rather than political, and that family-centered work built on trust and cooperation contributes to lasting peace.
Azerbaijan is continuing efforts to find and identify thousands of citizens who went missing during the Karabakh wars.
