U.S. President Donald Trump's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara has been moved to the end of the American leader's schedule.
Trump will arrive in Turkey on Tuesday and attend the summit events on July 7-8. His busiest day will be Wednesday, with his schedule starting at 8:00 a.m. local time.
However, the meeting with Zelensky has been scheduled for the end of the day, just before a meeting with Syrian transitional president Ahmed al-Sharaa. After these meetings, Trump will hold a press conference and depart Turkey.
The White House had previously confirmed that Trump would hold a one-hour meeting with Zelensky on July 8 at 2:30 p.m.
According to a Reuters report a day earlier, the American leader plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin after his meeting with Zelensky.
On Sunday night, Putin and Trump held a one-and-a-half-hour phone call at the initiative of the U.S. side. The call addressed the situation in the conflict zone in Ukraine and the U.S. mediation role.
This was the leaders' fourth conversation since the start of the year. The two leaders agreed to speak by phone again soon.
