Donald Trump made political remarks about the Democrats in a speech at a Republican convention held in Dallas on September 10. The U.S. president said Democrats wanted books by Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin to be available in every library in the United States.

Trump said Democrats supported children reading and studying these books. He also claimed that Democrats had a Marxist orientation.
The U.S. president also said that one of the Democratic Party’s leading candidates for Congress had described himself as a Marxist and said he hated traditional family structures. Trump claimed that the unnamed candidate wanted to destroy the American way of life.
Trump did not disclose the candidate’s identity. He warned that the U.S. Congress would become communist for the first time if Democrats won the election.
