Fakel midfielder Alexey Sutormin played in two different tournament matches in Russia with a fracture in his left arm. Despite suffering the injury on October 13, the footballer completed both matches and is expected to undergo surgery soon.
The fracture occurred during the Krasnodar match
Sutormin fractured his left arm in the first half of Fakel's away match against Krasnodar in the fourth round of the Russian Cup group stage. The player remained on the field until the end of the match, which Fakel won 2-0, and also played against Krylya Sovetov in the 11th round of the Russian Premier League on October 17.
Sutormin played the entire 90 minutes in the match in Samara, which Fakel won 2-1, while receiving painkilling injections. Fakel announced that the player would undergo surgery soon.
Chief physician praises Sutormin
Fakel chief physician Maksim Rudyakov said Sutormin had previously suffered a displaced fracture and an injury to the radius, while this time he sustained a fracture in another area of the same bone.
Rudyakov said the footballer's arm had been immobilized with a special orthosis and that his condition was being monitored. The chief physician said very few people would be willing to take the field with such an injury and added that Sutormin deserved praise for his dedication and approach to his work.
His statistics this season
Sutormin, 32, has played for Fakel since July 2026. He has made 12 appearances in various competitions this season and scored one goal.
