A significant increase is expected in Russia's maternity capital program for families in 2027. State Duma deputy Aleksey Govyrin announced that this social benefit will be indexed to inflation starting February 1, 2027.
Govyrin stated that according to current calculations, the estimated increase rate is projected at approximately 5.2 percent. The deputy noted that the indexation rate will be calculated based on 2026 inflation, and therefore the exact increase amount has not yet been fixed in rubles.
It was stressed that the indexation will cover not only the full unused amounts of maternity capital, but also the remaining balances on certificates that have been partially spent on purposes such as housing or education.
Govyrin advised families planning major expenses such as home purchases or children's education to take into account this automatic recalculation in February 2027. He added that the increase will be automatically reflected in personal accounts and that no additional application is required.
