The Russian Tour Operators Association (ATOR) has announced the list of countries that will be reachable by direct flight from Russia in the summer of 2026. The association reported that there will be direct flight connections to a total of 35 countries.
Regions and countries for flights
The list includes Egypt, Seychelles, Morocco, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Ethiopia from Africa. In the Middle East region, the list includes Turkey, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan.
Direct flights to Asia will be operated to Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Thailand, India, the Maldives, Mongolia, Oman, and North Korea. Countries from the Commonwealth of Independent States, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Serbia, and Abkhazia, are also on the list.
Popular tourist destinations
ATOR emphasized that not all countries with direct flights can be classified as mass and popular tourist destinations. According to the association, the prominent direct-flight destinations for mass tourism are Turkey, Egypt, China, Vietnam, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, the Maldives, Seychelles, and Tanzania, where flights will begin from July 2, are also in demand among travelers. Tunisia, Indonesia, and, to some extent, Jordan are also counted among popular destinations.
ATOR stated that from the former Soviet geography, the most popular destination in the summer months is Georgia, which stands out for its beaches and is expected to see a 40% increase in tourist flow. Belarus, Abkhazia, and, to some extent, Azerbaijan are also among the countries in demand during the summer season.
