Russian Ombudsman and ICRC President Meet on Ukrainian Prisoners of War
Russia’s Human Rights Ombudsman Yana Lantratova met with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric. The meeting addressed the situation of Ukrainian prisoners of war, and Lantratova’s press office announced that the ICRC had determined that the conditions for Ukrainian captives in Russia largely meet international standards.

Russia’s Human Rights Ombudsman Yana Lantratova met with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric in Moscow on Thursday.
Press Office Announces ICRC Finding on Ukrainian Captives
A statement from Lantratova’s press office after the meeting reported that the ICRC had inspected the situation of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russia. The statement included the following:
"As a result of checks carried out by the ICRC, it has been determined that the living and feeding conditions of Ukrainian prisoners of war largely comply with international standards."
It was also reported that the parties agreed to continue exchanging information and reciprocal prisoner visits.
