Russian junior wrestlers win four medals at world championship in Baku
Russia's junior freestyle wrestlers won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the Under-17 World Championships held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
On the final day of the Under-17 World Wrestling Championships that concluded in Baku, Russian athletes secured four medals in freestyle. The young wrestlers representing Russia once again achieved success on the international stage.
Abdurazak Shabanov, competing in the 92 kg category, won the gold medal, while Sergey Karmryan, wrestling at 60 kg, took silver. Bronze medals were earned by Islam Kurahmayev at 51 kg and Mohmad Bisultanov at 71 kg.
The participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions was freed for all age categories by a decision of the United World Wrestling (UWW) taken in May.
