Russia to allocate 35 billion rubles to AI project over three years
The draft 2027–2029 federal budget submitted by the Russian government to the State Duma on October 1 plans to allocate more than 35 billion rubles to an artificial intelligence project over three years. The project will receive 8.7 billion rubles in 2027, 12.9 billion in 2028 and 13.6 billion in 2029.
The Russian government submitted the draft federal budget for 2027–2029 to the State Duma on October 1. The explanatory note to the draft plans to allocate more than 35 billion rubles over three years to the federal Artificial Intelligence project.
Funding for artificial intelligence
Under the budget plan, 8.7 billion rubles will be allocated to the project in 2027. The allocation is expected to rise to 12.9 billion rubles in 2028 and 13.6 billion rubles in 2029.
Federal budget priorities
The draft lists fulfilling social obligations and supporting families with children among its priorities. Ensuring defense and security, as well as providing assistance to participants in the special military operation and their relatives, are also among the priority areas.
Ensuring technological leadership is also identified in the draft as one of the priorities under the national objectives.
