Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the eighth summit of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries in Moscow that Russia is exploring the possibility of cooperation with American partners in the Arctic.
“In the Arctic, which I mentioned, we are actively working with many countries around the world and are interested in joint work. Until very recently, European partners worked alongside us at our fields, and Chinese partners are working with us. We are now exploring the possibility of joint work with American partners,” Putin said.
The president said Russia had developed its own technologies for producing liquefied natural gas, which are already being used in the harsh conditions of the Arctic, and was open to exchanging technological developments in the gas sector. He proposed establishing such cooperation within the framework of the forum.
