Russian President Vladimir Putin published a congratulatory message on the occasion of Sea and River Fleet Workers' Day. In the telegram posted on the Kremlin's official website, Putin congratulated workers and retirees in the maritime and river transport sector.
In his message, Putin pointed to the challenging tasks facing the sector, saying, "Today, in the face of difficult trials, the sector faces serious, time-sensitive tasks."
The Russian leader listed these tasks as continuing fleet renewal, modernizing port infrastructure, creating sustainable logistics routes and international transport corridors, and expanding modern maritime technologies.
Emphasizing that water transport is an indispensable part of Russia's transport system, Putin stated that this sector contributes to the country's socio-economic development, strengthens interregional and international ties, and reliably carries out passenger and freight transportation.
"I believe that your competence, your commitment to the working traditions of your predecessors, and your deep understanding of the importance of your work will continue to help you successfully implement the planned goals and major projects, and strengthen the country's transport and technological sovereignty."
The President wished all workers new successes.
