A new social payment launched in Russia to support low-income working families with multiple children has reached one million recipients. Russia's Social Fund stated that around one million working parents have been paid since June 1, when applications for the family tax payment opened.
To be eligible for the payment, parents must be employed, raising two or more children, and have paid income tax last year. Additionally, the family's average income must fall below 1.5 times the subsistence minimum.
The assets of families applying for the program are also assessed for compliance with set criteria. Being a Russian citizen and residing permanently in the country are among other mandatory conditions for both parents and children.
