The Kremlin said no decision has yet been made on whether Vladimir Putin will travel to the G20 Summit in Miami, United States, in December.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it was currently unknown whether Putin would travel to Miami. Yury Ushakov, the Kremlin’s foreign policy adviser, said the possibility of attending the summit had not yet been discussed in Moscow.
Putin’s possible attendance had been announced earlier
The Kremlin announced in April that Putin could attend the G20 Summit. The announcement came after U.S. President Donald Trump said Putin’s participation in the summit would be very beneficial.
Moscow rejected Zelenskyy’s proposal for a meeting
Peskov also responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement that he would travel to Miami and seek a meeting with the Russian president if Putin attended the summit.
The Kremlin spokesman reiterated Moscow’s longstanding position, saying that Zelenskyy should come to Moscow if he wants to meet with Putin.
