Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said it detained two Russian citizens in the Kostroma region on September 4. The FSB alleged that the suspects had cooperated with Ukrainian intelligence services.
The FSB’s Public Relations Center said the two individuals had passed on information about people participating in the special military operation in Ukraine and kept weapons in their homes. Criminal proceedings were opened against them on charges of treason and illegal possession of weapons.
FSB releases footage of detentions and searches
Footage released by the FSB shows one of the suspects being taken to the regional administration building after his detention. In the footage, the man says he was detained for collecting information about participants in the special military operation and passing it to Ukrainian intelligence services.
The footage then shows a search of one of the suspects’ homes. A vest with ammunition pouches, a pistol holster, knives, handcuffs, various technical devices and an automatic weapon were seen during the search.
The search footage also shows that one of the suspects had a tattoo reading “Gott mit uns” in German on his right forearm.
