Armando Mema, a member of the opposition Freedom Alliance party in Finland, criticized his country's military support for Ukraine and drew attention to Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev's nuclear targeting warning.
Mema reacted to Medvedev's statement that Helsinki would enter Moscow's nuclear target map after lifting its ban on deploying nuclear weapons.
In a post on the social media platform X, the politician said, "It is surprising that Finland is allocating resources for an additional 300 million euros in drone purchases so that Ukraine can carry out attacks on Russia. Military support for Kyiv is steadily increasing."
Mema also reminded that Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo received thanks from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Russia's stance
Moscow argues that arms shipments to Ukraine hinder a resolution, drag NATO countries into direct conflict, and amount to 'playing with fire'.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had stated that any cargo containing ammunition for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia. The Kremlin, meanwhile, had said that the West's arming of Ukraine does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative impact.
