A court in the Tula region of Russia decided to deport a foreign national man due to an online review he made along with photos wearing a fake leather skirt purchased from the e-commerce site Wildberries. In his comment shared in September 2025, the man said, "What a nice little skirt! It hides not only the flaws on my body but also the fact that I am a man." The court evaluated this comment as "explicitly promoting the appeal of non-traditional sexual orientations." The man admitted his guilt and requested not to be deported. The person, who was detained on April 23, was transferred to a temporary detention center for foreign detainees in the town of Kimovsk after five days of administrative detention. He can be held here for up to 90 days until the deportation process is completed. Additionally, a separate case was opened against him for "LGBT propaganda" due to photos and videos on his social media page showing him wearing women's clothing, but this case was sent back due to procedural deficiencies. In 2022, Russia expanded the ban on "LGBT propaganda" to prohibit the promotion of "non-traditional sexual relations." Under this law, many people are prosecuted for actions such as sharing the rainbow flag on social media.
