Canada and Ukraine have signed a regulation supporting the production of unmanned aerial systems in Canada for the Ukrainian army. The agreement paves the way for a new joint venture between the two countries in this field. The new cooperation involves a joint structure to be established between Ukraine-based Airlogix and Canada-based Sentinel Research and Development. Within this partnership, it is planned to produce drone systems belonging to Ukraine in Canada. The Canadian Ministry of Defense announced that the systems will be produced for the Ukrainian armed forces. However, no details were given about which drone models will be produced. Russia's Ambassador to Canada, Oleg Stepanov, argued that this step elevates Ottawa's role in the Ukraine crisis to a higher level. According to Stepanov, Canada is transforming from a country that only provides weapons and financial support into an actor conducting direct military-technical cooperation. Stepanov also said that Russia will take this development into account in its military and political planning. The statement indicates that as the Ukraine war continues, Western countries are expanding their forms of support in the military industry sector.
