Azerbaijan destroys 788 mines left by Armenian forces in Karabakh in July
The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) announced that it neutralized 788 mines and over 2,000 unexploded ordnance in the liberated territories during July. The operations cleared more than 8,000 hectares of land.
Azerbaijan continues demining operations in the Nagorno-Karabakh region following the withdrawal of Armenian forces. The Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) shared data on operations conducted last July.
According to ANAMA's statement, 614 anti-personnel mines and 174 anti-tank mines were detected during searches in the Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan districts. In addition, 2,106 pieces of unexploded ordnance were found and destroyed.
During the July operations, a total of 788 mines and over 2,000 pieces of ordnance were neutralized, and an area of 8,012.7 hectares was cleared of mine threats.
