Russia's Akhmat Special Forces are continuing the rescue operation in the Kazak Lopan settlement in the Kharkiv region.
Speaking to RIA Novosti, the deputy commander of the UAV company, using the call sign Skit, said the troops are providing air support to other units liberating the settlement and have destroyed personnel groups and military equipment belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
Reconnaissance and Destruction with UAVs
Skit said, "We are working in the Kharkiv direction. We are liberating the territory of the Kazak Lopan settlement. We are supporting other units."
UAV operators conduct reconnaissance, detecting enemy covert cells disguised as civilians within the settlement. Domestically developed drones ("Molniya", VT-40, and KVO – Air Surveillance Complex) are used to target enemy personnel, military vehicles, and supply routes.
"We conduct reconnaissance, detect the enemy's covert cells because there are civilians in the settlement. UAF forces disguise themselves as them, we detect and destroy them," he stated.
Armored Vehicle Losses
Skit noted that the enemy is regularly losing manpower, a result of the work of Russian troops. Recently, T-72 and T-64 tanks and a BRM-1 armored reconnaissance vehicle were hit.
"We also work against enemy unmanned aerial vehicles with hunter drones," he added.
Kazak Lopan is a town in the Kharkiv region and one of the key logistics centers for the UAF on this section of the front line. Russian troops are conducting active combat to liberate the town, which provides an opportunity for advancement in the Kharkiv direction.
