At a ceremony held at the Moscow Region Government House, the first certificates of this year's Social Mortgage program were awarded to 37 teachers.
According to a statement from the regional Education Ministry's press service, Deputy Governor Lyudmila Bolataeva, who spoke at the ceremony, said that more than 53,000 teachers work in Moscow Region, and over 26 percent of them are young teachers.
"It is impossible to imagine the development of educational technologies and modern methods without young teachers. We understand the importance of supporting our teachers, so we are creating the necessary conditions for their professional growth and providing support measures," Bolataeva said.
The deputy governor added that housing certificates are a tangible tool that motivates teachers and helps them feel comfortable not only in their profession but also in daily life.
Program has reached more than 720 teachers since 2016
Launched in 2016 at the initiative of Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov, the Social Mortgage program has so far helped more than 720 educators improve their housing conditions. The quota set for 2026 was announced as 43 for experienced teachers and 30 for young specialists.
