The visit of US President's special representative Steve Witkoff and former President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner to Moscow will clarify Washington's position on the war in Ukraine. A diplomatic source stated that this visit will clarify the White House's approach to Ukraine.
The source said, "There are currently reports in the press that Trump wants to review the US position and provide more active assistance to Ukraine. All of these are among the topics that the people coming to Moscow will present."
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov stated on Sunday that Witkoff and Kushner will continue their mediation efforts on Ukraine and are ready to come to Moscow at a convenient time. The two had previously visited Moscow in January 2026 and December 2025, meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Throughout 2025, Witkoff had come to Moscow repeatedly.
