Russia’s Transport Ministry plans to create a shared digital platform to provide education, employment and social support services for veterans of the operation through a single point of access.
The initiative followed Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin’s visit to the “Together We Will Win” forum in Moscow. The platform is expected to bring together education programs, job listings, support measures, sports sections, contact information and various services.
The ministry will seek feedback from veterans
The ministry is also considering creating a dedicated area at its situation and information center where regular communication can take place. Veterans who took part in the operation are expected to test the services, provide feedback and submit proposals that could be implemented in the transport sector.
Retraining and employment options to be developed
The plans include expanding vocational retraining courses through a blended learning model. The ministry also aims to review the previous medical requirements so veterans can work as external pilots of civilian unmanned aerial vehicles and as drivers of manually controlled buses and trolleybuses.
Military transportation documents to go digital
Another element of the support mechanism will be the digitization of military transportation documents. The measure is intended to allow discounted ticket procedures to be handled with less paper bureaucracy.
The “Together We Will Win” nationwide veterans’ forum is being held in Moscow on August 27–28. The event brings together more than 2,000 veterans and family members from all regions of the country.
