Russian Artistic Gymnastics Team Wins Silver Medal at Beijing Cup Competition
The Russian national artistic gymnastics team secured the silver medal in the group all-around category at the Artistic Gymnastics Cup Competition held in Beijing.
The Russian national artistic gymnastics team won the silver medal in the group all-around at the Artistic Gymnastics Cup Competition held in Beijing.
Russian athletes managed to score a total of 50.400 points after two separate exercises. The national team included Agata Barekzay, Alisa Yeremeyeva, Anna Nikolayeva, Arina Lavrenova, and Sofya Solonskaya.
The competition's first place went to the Chinese team with 52.150 points, while third place went to the Belarusian team with 48.650 points.
The Cup Competition took place in Beijing from June 19-21. The International Gymnastics Federation (World Gymnastics) Executive Committee had made a decision on May 17 allowing Russian athletes to participate in international competitions with their country's flag and anthem. A similar decision was also made by the European Gymnastics Union (European Gymnastics) on May 24.
