The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that since May 8, Russian forces have been strictly monitoring the ceasefire and remained in previously occupied positions. The ministry stated that Russian forces responded to ceasefire violations by the Ukrainian army and returned fire in response to various attacks.
According to the ministry's statement, the Ukrainian army attempted 12 attacks in the last day, fired rocket launchers, artillery, and mortars 767 times, and also carried out 6,905 drone attacks. As a result of these attacks, the Russian side neutralized approximately 920 Ukrainian soldiers.
Additionally, it was reported that Ukrainian forces carried out 18 drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in the Belgorod region, injuring two civilians and damaging various buildings and vehicles. The ministry announced that Ukraine committed a total of 23,802 violations during the ceasefire.
These data indicate that despite Russia's efforts to maintain the ceasefire, clashes continue. However, since this information comes from a single source, independent verification is required.
Official statements and international observation reports on the matter are expected to be followed. Whether the ceasefire will be permanent and the positions of the parties may become clear in the coming days.
