A review into patients' living conditions at the Samara Regional Children's Clinical Hospital has been placed under the personal oversight of Yana Lantratova, Russia's Commissioner for Human Rights.
The review was requested after the mother of one of the patients complained about sanitary conditions at the hospital. She said the rooms were not being cleaned adequately.
The patient's mother also said her child was not given the necessary food on the first day after being admitted and that she was not provided with bed linen as the accompanying adult.
In a statement on her channel on the Max platform, Lantratova said the matter would be investigated without fail. The Commissioner for Human Rights said she had sent requests to supervisory authorities calling for an investigation.
Lantratova also said that she and regional human rights official Yelena Lapushkina were overseeing the situation together.
