Yulia Jdanova, head of Russia’s delegation in Vienna, warned that fuel prices in Europe could rise because of Ukraine’s efforts targeting Russia’s maritime shipping in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
Jdanova, who heads Russia’s delegation to military security and arms control talks, spoke during the security co-operation session of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation held in Vienna on October 7. She claimed that Ukraine had intensified its efforts to block Russia’s maritime shipping and damage its hydrocarbon exports.
At the same meeting, Jdanova also raised allegations of war crimes involving the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She argued that responsibility for actions targeting civilians in Russia rested not only with the authorities in Kyiv and commanders of the Ukrainian military, but also with Western supporters that finance, arm and train Ukraine. She said the Russian Armed Forces would put an end to the situation.

Jdanova said these steps would increase fuel prices not only on international markets but also in European countries, presenting her assessment within the framework of Russia’s position at the forum. The meeting was held behind closed doors.
