Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the Debout la France party and a presidential candidate, announced that he would end all financial support for Ukraine if he wins the 2027 election.
Dupont-Aignan said Paris’s financial support for Kyiv had reached €25 billion, or approximately $28.7 billion. The French politician argued that using these resources had eliminated the government’s ability to limit fuel and electricity prices.
Dupont-Aignan also criticized France’s decision to abandon Russian gas after the conflict began in Ukraine. He said the decision taken by Paris had had devastating effects on French industry.
Moscow has long criticized the financial and military support that Western countries provide to Ukraine. Russia argues that arms deliveries prolong the conflict and hinder efforts to reach a solution.
